Melbourne InDesign Event - August 2014

This weekend we visited the showrooms and warehouses of some of Melbourne's most impressive Supplier and Creatives behind the amazing Interiors and finishes available on the market.  We especially loved Space, Poliform, Smeg, Coco Republic, Weytlandts and Lump Sculpture Studio, Designer Rugs and Temperature Designs.  It was a treat to get to touch and see up close some of the most original and cutting edge design.

We were thrilled to have one of our projects by the wonderful creative minds of Barbara Moje and Simon O'Brien featured in the most recent copy of Spaces Magazine.  The project is nestled into Melaluca Forests and hugged by sand dunes and is the perfect cave like retreat. Building in a Bushfire area - Flame Zone

Building in a Bushfire Zone is no easy task. When you prepare to build your dream home you might first check your block of land and its BAL rating.  Here is a basic Bushfire Attack Level Calculator . Building in a Flame Zone is a real challenge.  But by using compact, accessible and sustainable technology, teamed with determination, amazing results can emerge.  The Beachside Bungalow construction is made from concrete filled block work with a concrete slab roof.  The roof has been waterproofed and has a garden/green roof supplied and installed by Fytogreen.  All the windows and doors have Steel shutters, the rollershutters close at the touch of a button.  The opening doors had to have custom made shutters and all openings eg. Fireplace flue, cooking range-top penetrations all had to have steel guards fitted in case of ember attack.  It was a challenge to source much of the materials. Thus we custom made many of the solutions.  The project designed by Barbara Moje and Simon OBrien of Six Degrees Architects is clever in its compact but practical design.

Renovations - Big & Small

Fancy a new Bathroom, Kitchen, Laundry, Workshop or Home Office? Did you know we also do renovations big and small.  Our experience is that many clients see the quick makeover on TV but in reality it can be a handful and cause many stressful nights.  Many people are not always aware that they may need a qualified Plumber or Electrician to carry out the work that they had in mind.  We take all the fuss out of renovating.  Our company are experienced and qualified and whats more we can sit down with you and help to design a new space and make sure it fits your budget.  We also offer in house Interior Design and help with choosing carpet, tiles, paint and lighting, placing furniture and art to make the space a delight to live in.

We advise people to read up on consumer law when it comes to renovation.  There are many unscrupulous operators posing as Interior Designers or Handymen who may leave you with a less than desirable outcome. If any job is over $5000 you must have not only a contract but make sure whoever does the work has Warranty Insurance and is Registered to carry out such work.

Ventnor Project - The Age

We completed a project for Peter Crone and Award winning Melbourne Architect recently. The feature article appeared in the Age Domain . It was a fabulous use of a very narrow site but featured fantastic use of windows which carefully framed magnificent views over Ventnor.
